Very different from Wanda’s usual with the blend of Amish and English families。 This is the first in Wandas new creek town series。 Great book love the walk to finding faith for Rhonda and Jeff with the help of life struggles， family and a sweet Amish couple they befriended along the way。 God is good and this book reminds us to “be still and know I am God”

Brunstetter's books never fail to delight me。 This book， the start of a new series， is no exception。Jeff and Rhonda are realistic and relatable in their relationship， as well as their belief that they don't have time in their lives for God。 I enjoyed watching them grow spiritually as they learned to lean on God。 And you can't help but be encouraged and touched by Orley and Lois！ The author does a great job of blending the Amish and Englisch elements。 The writing quickly pulls them in， making the Brunstetter's books never fail to delight me。 This book， the start of a new series， is no exception。Jeff and Rhonda are realistic and relatable in their relationship， as well as their belief that they don't have time in their lives for God。 I enjoyed watching them grow spiritually as they learned to lean on God。 And you can't help but be encouraged and touched by Orley and Lois！ The author does a great job of blending the Amish and Englisch elements。 The writing quickly pulls them in， making them feel a part of the book and town。 I look forward to reading the upcoming books in the series。Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy， but I wasn't required to leave a positive review。 。。。more

A very lovely story written in settings very near where I live。 Rhonda and Jeff’s story is very touching。 And I loved Orley and Lois。 Such a sweet Amish couple， full of wisdom。 Bringing lost ones closer to God， a remarkable story of faith and Gods love for us。I was given a copy of this from the publisher。 A review was not required。 This is my own opinion。

If you like predictable Amish fiction， then this is another book you might like。 It was a quick read， and parts of the story I truly enjoyed。 I never warmed up to the 2 main characters， Jeff and Rhonda， who were not Amish but moved into a community with many Amish neighbors。 I found Rhonda in particular to have an abrasive personality。 There is a Christian message to the books that we can all learn from。

An Enjoyable Inviting Read with Likable CharactersThe Walnut Creek Wish is the first book I’ve read by Wanda E。 Brunstetter。 Jeff and Rhonda Davis have been married for nearly thirteen years。 But their marriage has been strained and they’ve grown apart。 Both are hardworking and care about one another， but disappointment over not having children has impacted their marriage。 In a last-ditch effort to try and help their marriage， against better judgment， the Davis’ decide to purchase a new home in An Enjoyable Inviting Read with Likable CharactersThe Walnut Creek Wish is the first book I’ve read by Wanda E。 Brunstetter。 Jeff and Rhonda Davis have been married for nearly thirteen years。 But their marriage has been strained and they’ve grown apart。 Both are hardworking and care about one another， but disappointment over not having children has impacted their marriage。 In a last-ditch effort to try and help their marriage， against better judgment， the Davis’ decide to purchase a new home in Walnut Creek， OH。 The additional strain of financial issues， when their old house doesn’t sell， adds more pressure。 Jeff has a love for antiques and befriends an Amish couple， Orley and Lois Troyer， who own a local antique store。 A rather unconventional friendship develops between the couples。 Will their friendship and faith-filled influence be enough to help Jeff and Rhonda？ I loved this book。 I appreciated the development of the characters and they really came alive。 I liked that the author wasn’t in a hurry to rush from one action scene to the next。 Instead， the reader gets to know the characters and what made them the way they are。 It was interesting to learn why Jeff and Rhonda had rejected the Christian faith and to see God at work in their breaking down those walls。 I read a lot of books by Christian writers and publishers， and it’s a rare occurrence these days when the Gospel message is shared as part of the storyline。 That is why I loved this book。 The Troyer’s built a relationship with the Davis’， cared about them， and prayed for them。 They shared their faith and eventually shared the Gospel of Christ with Jeff and Rhonda。 I liked and cared about these characters。Because I enjoyed the characters and the setting， I didn’t want to rush through reading this book。 This book was very enjoyable。 I appreciated that the storyline was clean， without immorality or profanity。 I highly recommend The Walnut Creek Wish by Wanda E。 Brunstetter。 I love finding an author whose work is new to me， and I look forward to reading more of her work。 I would like to thank Barbour Publishing， Inc and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of The Walnut Creek Wish by Wanda E。 Brunstetter。 I was under no obligation to give a favorable review。 。。。more

I was asked to read and review The Walnut Creek Wish by Wanda Brunstetter。 Ms。 Brunstetter is a prolific writer of Amish fiction that portrays the Amish life in a very romantic way。 This novel is the story of an older Amish couple， Orley and Lois Troyer， who own an antique store。 They visit garage sales， estate sales and others to find item to sell in their shop。 Jeff and Rhonda are from the city where their respective jobs are fast-paced and leave little time for them to spend with each other。 I was asked to read and review The Walnut Creek Wish by Wanda Brunstetter。 Ms。 Brunstetter is a prolific writer of Amish fiction that portrays the Amish life in a very romantic way。 This novel is the story of an older Amish couple， Orley and Lois Troyer， who own an antique store。 They visit garage sales， estate sales and others to find item to sell in their shop。 Jeff and Rhonda are from the city where their respective jobs are fast-paced and leave little time for them to spend with each other。 They decide to purchase a house in Walnut Creek。 Jeff is an antique lover and has quite a collection。 Living in Walnut Creek is much slower paced for them， but the commute to their jobs is much longer。 Rhonda doesn’t see that she fits in and Jeff has made friends with Orley as their interest in antiques brings them together。Although I like the story line， I find novels that are mostly dialogue very boring。 I enjoy narrative much more。 I am finding that the latest novels by Ms。 Brunstetter are mostly dialogue and I do not care for them as much as I used to。 However， the story lines are interesting and I keep reading to find out what happens。I received a free print copy of this book from Barbour Publishers in return for my honest review。 The opinions expressed here are my own。 。。。more

This is one of my favorite novels of the ones I have read by this author。 She offers characters with realistic struggles， needs， and desires。 Each of the four primary characters are defined very well through conversations and actions。 Watching one older couple consider how best to mentor a younger pair without being obvious is fascinating， as is seeing the difference of lifestyles between the Amish and English。 It is also a source of hope and encouragement for those with loved ones in various si This is one of my favorite novels of the ones I have read by this author。 She offers characters with realistic struggles， needs， and desires。 Each of the four primary characters are defined very well through conversations and actions。 Watching one older couple consider how best to mentor a younger pair without being obvious is fascinating， as is seeing the difference of lifestyles between the Amish and English。 It is also a source of hope and encouragement for those with loved ones in various situations。Rhonda and Jeff have been married almost 13 years， and Rhonda is certain they are heading for divorce。 Jeff wants to bring them closer together， while Rhonda does not hold out hope。 One of her long-term heartaches is not being able to have children， and Jeff not wanting to adopt。 The one thing they do agree on is that neither is a believer in the Lord due to events from their childhoods， and neither want to hear about religion from anyone as they do not think they need it。Jeff suggests that they look for a home outside of Canton， where they currently live and work， to a rural setting， as he thinks it will be better for them than being in their little townhouse in the city。 He saw an ad for an open house in Walnut Creek， where there is a thriving Amish community。 Rhonda thought the commute would be too stressful to keep her hotel manager position and Jeff going to the restaurant he owns。 They are both very impressed by the property。 It is secretly a dream home for Rhonda， and the deal is quickly done。Jeff went into a Walnut Creek antique store owned by a delightful older Amish couple， Orley and Lois。 They enjoy chatting with their customers and helping them with situations they share。 Jeff and Orley get along well， and he found an old sled like the one his grandpa had years ago。 Rhonda does not want it in their home and wants Jeff to sell the antiques he has。After a time of being somewhat happier in the new home， one crisis after another occurs。 They do not want to hear some of the suggestions made to them by family and friends， but they cannot come to terms with how to resolve challenges。Honestly， I saw some of myself in each character。 I could also see myself， many years ago， in the way they turned their backs on the Lord。 I aspire to be much more like Lois。 There are spiritual lessons in this novel that I appreciated， and I think other readers might find one or two， also。 Whether this couple can overcome the crises that threaten to overcome them is a matter of prayer for those who love them even as they try to solve it themselves。 I highly recommend this to fans of the author and of Amish fiction， and novels that show spiritual values and growth。I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review。 。。。more
